From boiler suits to financial advice

I’ve been a financial planner for some time now, having worked for two large Asset Management firms before setting up Waddington Financial in 2019. Before that I was an engineer for Michelin Tyres wearing oily boiler suits!

I wanted to move away from a sales-orientated environment and run a lifestyle business, which is why I decided to start my own company. For me, my role isn’t about making as much money as possible.

I value my time and I’m at a stage now where I realise my time is precious. A lot of my clients can relate to this and I like to be able to practice what I preach – money is a great asset to have but only if you know how to use it.

My approach

I work with people who want to know if they have enough money to live the life they want to live. It goes without saying it’s nice to be challenged, but I don’t force anyone to make decisions or push them into a particular direction.

I’m a straight talker, I tell people as it is, and help people to make informed decisions. My style is professional but informal, I prefer to be comfortable and to encourage my clients to feel at home with me too.

This seems to be working as I enjoy good, long-term relationships with my clients, many of whom came with me when I left my previous role to start my own company.
